Groomer Report 1/28/2016

The trails in the Barnes Corners Trail System have received additional snow this week. On Wednesday Montague main trails were groomed and will be completely groomed again tonight (Thursday)and every night thru the weekend. The Worth trail was groomed last night (Wednesday)and is in great condition to the Oswego County line, this has 2 new trails that go thru the woods keeping you off the roads (excellent ride) and thru the covered bridge. The Copenhagen trail is being done today (Thursday). Enjoy the riding and stay to the right.

2015 Fall Update

1) On C-5 from the end of Culpepper Rd. to the new bridge on Salmon River Rd. This trail crosses Salmon River Rd. by the parking lot on the end of Culpepper Rd. and continues south across Pitcher Rd. and back to Salmon River. crosses Salmon River and continues to the new county bridge. This trail has two new bridges installed by the DEC  and crosses two roads.

2) On S56A (gruntly rd) to the Loomis Rd. we have built a new trail, stopping from traveling on Rt. 189 which is a plowed rd.

3) On C-5 from Rt. 96 to Nichols Rd. Instead of running plowed roads to Worth Center we can travel this new trail to again eliminate several miles of road riding. This also has a new bridge installed by DEC.

4) On C-5 the Copenhagen loop we are still working with the DEC on a new trail to run parallel with the Cory Rd. This will keep our groomers and all riders from a nasty water hole and again from riding plowed roads. This is still in planning and we hope to have it finished before our grooming starts.

Sno-Pals has been working on these huge trail improvements for years with the DEC and should make riding and grooming more enjoyable and safe to ride. We are trying to eliminate all plowed  road riding for the safety of all snowmobile riders, grommers, and vehicle traffic, and riding on bare roads from that warm spring sun.
